*In addition, there is speculation that there was another kata in the system as taught by Cho Tzu HO-Suparimpei (108 movements or battles). Kanbun elected not to teach this kata. It has been said that he either felt that it was simply not needed for the system or that he had not mastered it to the point where he was willing to pass it on. Either way, the kata is lost to Uechi Ryu. Other karate systems, including - Goju Ryu, Issin Ryu, Shorin Ryu, Shito Ryu and Shotokan, have kata similar to the 3 main kata of Uechi Ryu. The differences at times are minimal, at others vast. So, while there are other versions of Suparimpei, one can only guess at their similarity to the version that Cho Tzu Ho might have taught.
